May 2, 2005 The
first ever SVC San Jose Art Show was great! Check out pictures
and final judging results below.
The new mod
starts Monday May 2, 2005. Students'
class assignments will be posted by the whiteboard just past the lobby and
at the T.D. printers station. If you have questions or concerns about
scheduling, please contact Registrar Pam Curtis and/or Graphic Design
Program Director Paul Smith.

The Art
Show was a great success! We saw a lot of high quality work from some very
talented students. We were also fortunate to have high-powered visitors
come to review and judge the works: Christine Hermesmeyer from Fatbox
Films, Ace Miles from Electronic Arts, Jeff Rascov Director of the Digital Media
Dept at West Valley College, and Fine Art Auctioneer Jerry Leventer.

You can view the First Place
Winners' Art in the SVC San Jose Campus Lobby through the summer 2005.
The second, third and honorable mention place art will also be displayed
throughout various locations around the campus.
If you didn't get an entry in this time, don't worry; this will be an
ongoing part of the Graphic Design program from now on. Plan for the next Art Competition and
Show that will be in November with some special holiday art categories.

right. More of the matte-mounted photo realistic, illustration, and advertising art
is below.

Message
from Director -
Many of our current graphic design students are looking forward to a July
9 graduation. All are welcome to come to the festivities at the San
Jose Convention Center at 10 AM (408 Almaden Blvd.) in downtown San
Jose. The SVC San Jose Graduation will be in the Parkside Hall B.
I'd like to
thank all the students and faculty who pitched in to make the first ever
SVC San Jose Art Show a success. A very good start from an
impressive group of artists.
